The pregnancy is going well, and although the weeks are flying past with Kira growing slightly rounder with each passing week there have been some amazing milestones along the way. In October we took a day off work met up with my sister and headed to Sandton for the Baby Expo it was wall to wall baby stuff, I cannot believe how much there is to choose from these days, gone are the days where you "made a plan" now there is "stuff" for everything.
It was the weirdest shopping experience I have ever had, walk down one aisle and back to the car to off load, down the next aisle and back to the car to off load and down the next aisle...... and we had to do every single aisle and every single shop, we were able to get most of the big stuff at massive discounts, so were able to buy twice as much........ we literally shopped until we dropped, never in my life have i shopped for 5 HOURS.....
On the way we saw a kiosk that does 4D scans, it has been driving my sister "Granty" crazy that Kira and Jan do not want to know what sex the baby is....... her plan was to find out and was prepared to bribe the lady if necessary to tell her............... plan failed the lady asked Kira is she wanted to know, Kira said NO.......... so she wasn't telling, no matter how much we offered her........
What an amazing experience to see my new grandchild in 4D you could see the whole body, the tiny feet, and hands, at one point it was almost as though the baby was waving at us, as though it knew we were seeing it for the first time and saying here I am Granny and Granty, an experience I will never forget, they showed us how the blood is flowing through the umbilical cord, how the fluids are being processed through the body, amazing all we had was a GP and a stethoscope and if there was a problem..... and internal........ ugh...... thank you for progress
And then we heard the heart beat......... doof doof..... strong and loud......... doof........ doof................ I am going to be a Granny.......... and I started to cry..............
