The Nursery

The Nursery

It  is  finished,  the  nursery  is  finally finished,  and  it  was  definitely  worth  all  the  hard  work  that  everyone  has  put  in  over  the  past  weeks,  and  the  two  nervous  breakdowns  that  Kira  almost  had about the  length  of  time  it  was  taking  us  to  do  it. It  is  really  "challenging"  having  a  daughter  who  is  a  perfectionist  so  it  was  quite  a  mission  to  get  everything  exactly right  so  that  it would  pass  the  quality  control.

We  spent  a  whole  Sunday  painting  all the  furniture  so  that  everything  would  match.  Which  with  marauding  bugs,  who  choose  to  commit  suicide  on the  chest  of  drawers  I  had  just  painted.......  and  had  to  rub  down  and  redo,  to   the  cupboard  having  to  be  painted  inside,  because  there  was  just  no  place  to  unpack  all the  "stuff"  that  was  inside, this  was  really  fun,  Jan  was doing  one  side  and  I  was  doing  the  other  side,  each  trying  to  impress  Kira   with  our  painting.....  and  none  messing  skills......  I  won,  he  forgot  the  legs  that  I  had  to  fix  for  him.......  before  the  quality control  test..........  to  keep  us  both  out  of  trouble.

But  when  you  see the  final  product,  it  was  all  so  worth   all the  work  that  went  into  it,  all we  need  now  is  the  baby  to  go  into  the  cot.............
